Rough Sketches to Finished Calendar
I spent the month of October drawing in my sketchbook every single day! 🎉 My focus was floral bouquets. As each of my rough sketches stacked up, I knew I wanted to transform them into a desktop calendar. I took bits of ideas from my sketchbook into procreate to refine and add color. I then moved my procreate layers into photoshop to add a bit more depth and to rearrange the bouquets. It was a bit like real floral arranging!
After all my illustrations were digitized, I opened InDesign and created the calendar grids and layout. I’m really excited to see the 2025 Calendar Desktop Bouquets come to life! I’ve opted to sell them print on demand (POD). They are printed and ship in the USA. My order took about a week from print to delivery!
Why POD? I wanted to make sure that I didn’t have an overstock of dated calendars. If I had given myself more time to advertise and share about the creation process, I would’ve felt more comfortable buying in bulk. My 2026 plan is to create the illustrations well in advance, get them printed locally and sell them online and to boutique shops in my area.
If you are looking for a beautiful, practical addition to your desktop, I would be so grateful if you got one for you and few for friends! Click here to order.
The Thanksgiving holiday is this week. It’s going to be a quiet year with my little family of four and my parents. I’m looking forward to laughing around the kitchen table, eating good food, and listening to Christmas music play over the football game!
I’ll be transporting quite a few dishes to my folks and I realized how few dishes I have with secure lids. I decided to treat myself to new floral casserole dishes from Pioneer Woman. They have locking lids to make transport less stressful AND they are pretty! DELIGHT!
I hope you have an enjoyable holiday and feel the gratitude for your beautiful life wash over you!
Remember to shop small this holiday season. Not only does your support make small businesses do a happy dance, but the gifts you give are infused with heart and soul! I love visiting craft fairs, buying things from small businesses I follow on Instagram and ordering from local Etsy sellers. I love supporting the dreams of other makers! Let’s create a ripple effect of happy dances!
